Invasive Species Management
BAReN’s Invasive Species program addresses the growing threat posed by invasive alien species to biodiversity, ecosystems, and community livelihoods. We work with local communities, institutions, and partners to prevent, control, and manage invasive species while restoring affected ecosystems.
Key Focus Areas
Prevention & Early Detection
Reducing the introduction and spread of invasive species through awareness, early detection systems, and community participation.
Control & Containment
Supporting mechanical, biological, and ecosystem-based control methods to limit the impacts of invasive species.
Restoration of Ecosystems
Restoring native biodiversity and ecosystem functions in areas affected by invasive species.
Managing Invasive Species in the Field
Our Approach to Invasive Species Management
BAReN applies integrated and science-based approaches to invasive species management, combining policy engagement, field action, research, and community involvement to ensure long-term ecosystem health.
